Adult Dog

Honeybee is a 6-year-old, 8-pound chiweenie with a lust for life. He is an incredibly happy boy who loves to be in the mix. 
He adores children, cuddling, playing with toys in the backyard and climbing. 
His current foster situation has dogs of all sizes, and he enjoys them all!  He was not house trained when he came into rescue and has made great strides. Now he loves to use the doggie door and is back and forth all day long looking for the best spots to snooze in the sun. 
Honeybee has been neutered, and is vaccinated. He is heart worm positive and being treated. He sure would love a family to appreciate his sweet demeanor and love of children!!!

Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)
Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Chewy is a most perfect doggie. He was found on the streets of San Antonio by a good Samaritan, with a badly damaged eye :( Since being in foster he has been such a great companion!! He is smart and sweet and cuddly AND a wonderful house guest!! Here is an excerpt of the gushing review that his foster mom sent:
" I just love this boy!! I can leave him at home and he doesn’t bother anything. In addition to that, he loves to be outside and goes in and out of the doggie door when I’m at home with him. he knows the following commands: sit, stay, drop it, wait, and no. He is completely housebroken or potty trained or whatever the appropriate word it is. We’re working on leash training. He is navigating well with only one eye. AND he is not a barker!!"

So basically this sweet boy had a family before and is ready for his FUREVER home and family!! He is young and smart and wants to be someone's forever doggy!!

<p>If you aren’t willing to train a puppy every single day, don’t get a puppy! It isn’t a one-shot deal. You have to be dedicated. And if you aren’t making progress – find someone who can help. Enroll in a puppy training class or hire a trainer. Most cities across the nation have some sort of availability for this kind of help and at different cost levels that would fit your budget.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Puppies are going to poop a lot and pee even more; chew on everything; bite everyone; scratch people and furniture; steal things; destroy something at some point; pull on the leash; not move at all on the leash; bark; cry; beg for attention; and the list goes on. You’re going to have to walk them, bathe them, pick up everything below waist height, buy new shoes, and most importantly: TRAIN THE PUPPY NOT TO DO THESE THINGS! Ultimately, it is your responsibility to teach your puppy that this behavior is unacceptable.</p>


Puppies don't train themselves

<p>This is going to happen every time and incredibly fast. Please, the next time you have the thought, “I want a puppy!” replace the word “PUPPY” with “DOG.”</p>

<p>If your excitement goes down, even the slightest amount, don’t get a puppy.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The average lifespan for a dog is 12 years. The wondrous smell of puppy breath only last a few months. This means you have waaay more time owning a dog than a puppy. We frequently have puppies returned to us for a variety of reasons. Often this results in an extremely adoptable 8 week old puppy being returned a few months later as an 8 month old train-wreck.</p>
